Professor Hay is Matthew Flinders Distinguished Emeritus Professor of Geography at Flinders University. His work focusses on economic inequality, oppression, ethics, and fairness. He loves research and teaching but he is equally passionate about service to colleagues and academic communities. His contributions have been acknowledged by many awards in Australia and overseas, and he has been elected to leadership roles in state, national and international professional bodies e.g. First Vice-President of the International Geographical Union.
