What I can offer as a Mentor
As a mentor, I bring a deep commitment to research-informed, effective teaching practices. I have formally and informally mentored many colleagues across a variety of disciplines at Victoria University and La Trobe University, guiding them to success in teaching awards and applications for Advance Higher Education fellowships. My contributions to teaching leadership have been recognised nationally and internationally. This is evidenced by my achievement as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) in 2021, and by receiving the Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) Citation Award in 2013. In terms of mentorship expertise, I specialise in:
- Overseeing and integrating quality enhancement activities to ensure educational excellence.
- Leading professional development initiatives that emphasise evidence-based teaching practices, empowering educators to refine their instructional strategies.
- Leading major curriculum review and development projects at the whole program level, ensuring curricula are both current and impactful. Through these areas of expertise, I am well-equipped to offer guidance and support in advancing university teaching quality and innovation.
