What I can offer as a Mentor
As the Head of the School of Biomedical Science Education Unit at UWA, my role is to inspire and facilitate excellence in teaching and learning with the school. I manage a live chat space for peer-led professional development, organise workshops led by internal and external experts in L&T, lead a journal club on SOTL, provide one-on-one L&T support to colleagues, and support the team in their applications for teaching awards. I am a relatively new teaching academic but have jumped in head first, have learned a lot along the way, and LOVE it. As a mentor, I will share your passion for learning and teaching, champion you, and share the tips and tricks that I have collected over the last 5 years. I am keen to support and mentor early career applicants for citations and teaching excellence awards. I am a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy and have mentored and assessed applications at University and AAUT levels.
