What I can offer as a Mentor
I am an experienced ICT / Computer Science academic with over 20 years in the industry. I can offer insight into what makes a good award application, having won the AAUT citation in 2016 and the award for teaching excellence in 2020, as well as multiple internal teaching awards. I am chair of the CQUniversity internal awards panel, and have also been an assessor and team leader for the national AAUT citations, giving me insight into many different styles of application. I also have a lot of experience as a mentor, having mentored staff at my own institution for both the internal and the AAUT national awards, as well as having been involved as with the ASCILITE (Australasian Society for Computers in Learning in Tertiary Education) Community Mentoring Program (including as coordinator) for six years. I am also currently Vice President of ASCILITE and hence part of the awards team for the society.
