What I can offer as a Mentor
My academic and professional background includes qualifications in medicine, specialist training in obstetrics and Gynaecology, ultrasound and education. I have an extensive clinical and teaching background, am active in teaching, research, industry and community engagement and my career spans more than thirty years. I am passionate about teaching and have extensive experience in academic leadership, program and course curriculum design and renewal. I have thirteen years of experience in online teaching, and have facilitated the digital transformation of academic programs, promoting innovative online teaching approaches and contributing to establishing an exceptional educational and student experience for online students. I am a trained peer reviewer in the university for probations, promotions and teaching awards, have been on panels for teaching awards and grants and can engage with applications across a broad range of disciplines. My work has led to several prestigious national and international awards for education including the AAUT teaching citation in 2016. As a mentor, I am available as a sounding board to brainstorm and discuss ideas. I can share my experiences. I can offer feedback in a friendly, supportive manner for your narrative and help you critically reflect upon the evidence you have or that you may need to build to develop and polish your application.
