What I can offer as a Mentor
I am the Director of Work-Integrated Learning in the School of Business and Law, Edith Cowan University. I am focused on enhancing students’ employability and career prospects through embedding meaningful work-based learning and industry and community engagement into the curriculum. My work has been recognised by a number of awards, including: 2020 James W. Wilson Award for Outstanding Contribution to Research in Cooperative Education; 2019 AAUT for Teaching Excellence; 2017 AAUT for Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning. I was supported in developing my own applications for these awards and understand the value of mentorship. I know the time and hard work that these applications require and am keen to share my knowledge and experience on writing a successful application. In particular, I feel I can give guidance on how to structure a narrative which effectively showcases teaching experience and what teaching and education activities are worth focusing on. Please note: dates of my availability during June/July/August in 2020 will be further updated.
